overview
In the chapter that were related to this topic we learned about the mammalian transport system which taught us why multicellular animals need transport mechanism and the structure of arteries, veins, and capillaries and how their structure and functions go hand in hand. We also learned how the tissue fluid, lymph, and composition of blood are distinguished and how they each functions. We learned how the hemoglobin works in the transport of oxygen and carbon dioxide.
When it come to the plants transport system we learned why plants just like mammals need a transport system. We also learned the difference between the distribution of xylem and phloem tissue in roots, stems and leaves. We also learned how the water is absorbed into the roots and the pathway that the water follows from root to leaf. We also had to be able to describe the different structure from the xylem vessels, phloem sieve tube elements and comapnion cells and how their structure affects their functions.
Lastly we had a chapter on smoking which was a class assignment were my group and I had to teach the chapter we taught the class how smoking can cause a long term damage to your lungs and how smoking leads to many serious illnesses. The class scored an average of about a 90% on their test.
